The 2019 Gingerbread Competition raised funds for the Young Urban Builders (YUB), a jobs program of the Athens Land Trust that trains young adults in construction skills while working to rehabilitate homes in the West Broad neighborhood of Athens, GA. YUB is a program with the local non-profit Athens Land Trust, a 501(c)(3) organization. All donations are tax-deductible.

The Athens Gingerbread Guild donated the $1500 proceeds of the 2018 inaugural gingerbread events to the Young Urban Builders, which will provide wages to young adults being trained in the construction industry.
